I know how you feel about the snow. Here in Newfoundland at the end of February we were pummeled with snow. It's brutal to be surrounded by it.

But I'm not going to lie, when shoveling it I did laugh to myself thinking how screwed American military would be if they ever invaded here. 🤣😂

But you're doing the correct thing; pushing yourself to notice the good. Finding happiness in the little things and small moments.

To survive this dark age in human history it's going to be very important that people learn to do that. Find your happiness wherever you can in the simple things.

I know how you feel. I do my best to keep a zen center, but anger at injustice is the one I really struggle with personally. I think right now, though, if you've any sense of human decency or justice you have a right to be overwhelmed with anger and how unjust our world has become.

It's inhumanity at its worst. There's no argument here. It does haunt one to see the evil that men do. To witness the consequences of that evil.

I don't think one is ever the same once they've really seen the inhumanity of humanity at times.

But I still like to believe peace is attainable within.

I hope that stain fades with time. I understand why it wouldn't, but once this man is dead and gone I hope collectively we can all heal as best we can. To have to carry the weight of him forever sounds awfully heavy a burden. I think we'll all be due some peace of mind and soul after this.

It needed to be an American Pope calling out the American President

I think the fact he's an American is why he was chosen to begin with. That and his progressive leanings (which aren't even progressive, he's just following Jesus example - who'd have thunk?). The Church understood it needed to counter the evil of Trump and MAGA Christianity in that direct way.

Self-hating gay men is accurate AF! lol. And some of us men under the umbrella have been quietly saying that for awhile now. lol.

I know. It's disgusting. And it's a heresy. The fact these men (and women...Paula White) have huge congregations and authority blows my mind. As a Catholic, I legit want the Pope out there regularly saying these people are heretics. That's what it is. And False Prophets because some claim prophecy.

I think we're all sick of them. And angry too, because looking back as a 34 year old I know we're saying everywhere "ten years of this." But I can remember back when gay marriage passed and Kim Davis and all these hateful people came out from under their rocks.

That was the canary in the coal mine.

Wow! I have never been to Alberta, but I've heard a bunch of unpleasant things. I will never forget one friend of mine who moved away and came back and telling me that they learned prejudicial slurs they didn't even know existed prior.

That impression has always stuck with me.

And I think, as a follower of the teachings of Jesus, that collectively the Christian community has really shit the bed so far on this. The rest of us were unaware of how severe and deep this rot was. And what we did see, we obviously didn't call out hard enough.

This is a heresy.

Oh, I know. They've disgraced the title as well as every principle the Jesus they claim to follow taught. But this is not the first time Christianity has done this. And nasty shit happens every time one of the Abrahamics has climbed into bed with the empirical.

It's a global disaster of conservatisms own making. But that's what you get when you make human rights and morality negotiable. You end up with a group of inhumane, immoral, and amoral people.

I know. It's because conservatives globally let the fascists in. They let the far right wing into the party and gave them legitimacy and now they're stuck with it because part of the infamous "base" (I've come to hate that word lol) is just programmed to be this way and want fascist talking points.

I know, isn't it terrifying? But that's why we are seeing what we're seeing. They were playing the long game. They kept their people dumb enough generationally that they could rule over them with impunity.

Of all the horrendous authoritarians in history, I really do believe Trump is the most batshit crazy we've seen since Nero.

Oh yes, there's been unspeakable evil. Madmen, even! But this is something to behold.

There was a time, after 9/11, where I remember being told that Muslims deny Jesus and instead worship Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This is of course disgracefully insulting and a falsehood. But I distinctly remember that being the impression me and others were given.

I am convinced it's a hangover from the propaganda surrounding 9/11. That misrepresentation of Islam that became embedded in the public consciousness never really went away. And these Christian Nationalists are already obsessed with Christian Crusade history. Well, a fictionalized version.
