At 15 and 13, I no longer ask my kids to look at the posts I think are hilarious, because I can't take any more eye-rolling.

(this was stupid, and I apologize -- it's all so, so stupid)

They're "warfighters" now, but we may or may not be at war, depending on who you ask and what time of day.

They can't be on the ground *and* on the table, Karoline.

Hole up for 6-12 months while the GigaChads all shoot each other, and then re-emerge for a non-perishable snack cake run.

Honestly, struggling to survive 22 hours per day while cut off from civilization, while gaming for 2 hours per day with friends doesn't sound all that bad right now.

So, Minnesota cares about kids with autism and spends money to support them. Got it. Thanks, Nancy Mace.

I try not to live in the past, but some days I really miss living in the dorms and being able to just walk 1-5 minutes and find a friend to game with (who was probably also looking for a friend to game with).

Do they live next to that podium? I was under the impression that they had day-jobs.

Good news, everyone -- Mayor Mamdani has accepted the Declaration of Independence as his lord and savior.

I'm not sure what combo of Islamophoic+stupid Trump's comment is, but I'm sure it's some combo of those.

I assume he thinks Muslims don't believe in the Declaration of Independence or something equally racist and stupid.

Rubio's face is as red as Trump's is orange.

Gas prices spiking just before summer demand peaks and months before mid-term elections should work out great for Republicans in Congress.

They've pretty much got every other model as hybrid, too, which does make a difference at scale.

We're going to have 10 Benghazis and not one Republican will want to have a hearing about any of them.

Could the US run low on weapons for its assault on Iran? Analysts say the US could run low on vital interceptor missiles within weeks.

Japan has its own corporate culture issues, but Toyota has managed to at least stay toward the upper-middle of not-terribleness. I genuinely think the US auto industry is fucked.

Just spitballing here, but maybe they should start thinking about that.

President of the United States just now learning that Iran and Venezuela are different (and, frankly, there's no evidence Venezuela has stabilized or is intact).

Also pretty big news that Toyota thinks they can meet their emissions targets (or at least come close to them).

Tesla loses Toyota and Stellantis from its EU CO2 pool, taking billions with them Toyota and Stellantis are withdrawing from Tesla's European CO2 emissions pool for 2026, removing two of its largest paying members as regulatory credit revenue shrinks globally.

Toyota and Stellantis pulling out of EU CO2 pool. This general topic doesn't get a lot of MSM coverage but is a substantial piece of Tesla's profit margins (across the US and EU):

It's way more to do with hitting the right topics at the right time than being "interesting", IMO.

Anyone feel like Bluesky is getting much more algorithmic (for lack of a better word)? Twice in the past week I've had posts take off, which hasn't really happened before. A "popular" post in the past for me on Bluesky might be 50 likes (not 1K). Seeming more like Threads (not in a good way).

Israel Advances in Lebanon and Seizes More Land, as Hezbollah Fight Escalates

I know these aren't US troops, but Israel has boots on the ground in Lebanon. The illusion/delusion that this is going to be some kind of 3-day air campaign that doesn't spill over is already shattered:

Lying about either Clinton's testimony a couple of days before video was released seems profoundly stupid, but I guess when you've got FOX and NewsMax to just pick up the lies and run with them, it doesn't matter.
