Slightly more than half pi shawl in blue and seafoam green stripes with the beginnings of 9 interlinked cables around the upper outside curve.

Abdominal surgery is restricting my movements a lot, so weaving is off the table for about 3 weeks. Good thing I have other hobbies I have been neglecting that require minimal movements!

First warp of 2025 Pride Favors off the loom!!

Currently soaking to relax the warp, then outside to dry before cutting and assembling.

Pleased that the 10.5 yard warp is yielding a 10 yard finished cloth - means I've done a solid job modifying my loom to minimize waste. #MySCA #PrideAndProgress

Justin Timberlake sings some song from guess N*Sync? I always get them confused with the Backstreet Boys, but never New Kids on the Block or Menudo. Respect your elders. So this picture is him in a music video I think and he's singing a lyric that he rather angrily insists is "it's gonna be me" but if you listen to it he very clearly pronounces it "may". I mean, he is obviously saying "me" because "may" doesn't make sense in the context of the song, and he's doing that vocal thing where he makes it sound like "May" which you are hearing in your head right now if you are of a certain age. So why get so mad about it, Justin? So many people love this silly meme and you could be like "yeah, dog, I totally said it like that and I love that you can have fun with it once a year. word. dope." I think the rest of the band is out of focus behind him and also the wall is red. To be honest, J-dog here really pops against the backdrop, and the lighting is super flattering. So, yeah, dude, it's gonna be you, but it's also gonna be May. Tomorrow, like this meme says.

For years -- YEARS -- I wake up on the first of May (yes, I grab a scone and a large house blend, OBVIOUSLY) and think FUCKINGMONKEYSHITDAMMIT I SHOULD HAVE POSTED THAT MEME YESTERDAY.!

DING!!!!!! vararfeldur is off the loom! Sent through an aggressive bath, then to air dry! Hopefully it will be sunny and windy tomorrow to be able to set it outside!

Weaving is my absolute favorite!! One day maybe I'll make it out to An Tir!

That is my hope. The alum has made the yarn a little "crunchy". It doesn't help that I'm comparing it to a piece I wove and have worn frequently, so it is loved and broken in comfortably. I expect it to soften as I work it and wear it.

Last project with the dye vat containing no iron. I didn't add any new dye, but the yarn was mordanted with fresh alum. It is VERY pink, not at all purple. But it will serve as a beautiful weft when I finally get this Vararfeldur off my loom!! #MySCA #WarpedWeaver

I'm still in disbelief that I won a competition! It was such a fun project and the other participants were a lot of fun to talk to about their projects. It was great to inspire and be inspired!!

Ooh - that's a new one for me. If you figure out what it is, I'd love the Latin name. I want to find the right lichen for that fuschia. I know it grows super slow, so you have to be very judicious about harvesting. But such a pretty color😍

Science Works! It's a very subtle shade change, but I can tell which is which when they are next to each other. I also can still feel the alum in the yarn and will definitely be adding some conditioning element before wearing this yarn. #NaturalDye #MySCA
