Kokunai is a rather feisty, but violent human-cat Yokai. If you anger her, she'll unleash her green fire, causing catastrophic fires in the area. She can also use her fire to control the corpses of humans.

Tsume is an Inugami who can possess unstable people and give them misfortune. They can possess people by sliding their glowing tail inside their ears.

It's hard being a tourist attraction. Wanyudo is part of the Yokai Parades, where he lights up the show with his fire. Not a fun job, but it pays.

Kozo is an intelligent Hitotsume. Think of him as a Yokai Sherlock Holmes. When things go wrong, he often serves as the voice of reason. He doesn't need two eyes; he can still see with just one.

This Kappa hides in the oceans to trick its prey into thinking the water is safe. When their prey gets close, they drag them into the water - never to be seen again.

Yasei is a wild fox/kitsune who was a member of the original Guardians. She can shape fit into anyone to trick some uninvited guests before biting them with her powerful teeth. Intelligent, spunky, and... well... Wild!

I also understand why he’s decided to split the short into two, because I know animation takes time, especially with indie animators with
Irl situations and making sure the scenes for animation is OK and steady.

The animation still looks stunning as true art! The casting is a good choice! ATVTY still nails it as Awa and I still surprised that @imshadow007.bsky.social is in this project! The actress from the MLP fandom in this awesome indie short.
