Eugenics is on the rise again: human geneticists must take a stand Scientists must push back against the threat of rising white nationalism and the dangerous and pseudoscientific ideas of eugenics.

I wrote about how we must stand and fight against the threat of eugenics.

Fueled by white nationalism and scientific racism, these beliefs are factually wrong and ethically abhorrent.

This fight includes supporting efforts to diversify our workforce & science. To stop now would be a deep betrayal.

Take it from a knitter and sewist:

•get zippers, needles, thread, iron on mending patches, and buttons. The regular day-to-day stuff comes from China.
•if you can, get a sewing machine. if you have one, get an extra needle.
•sharpen old scissors or buy good new ones; keep one pair JUST FOR FABRIC.

My sourdough starter actually tripled in size for the first time! I’m so proud 💜 I’ve only been able to get her to double before she falls back down.

My PI just heard that his therapeutics study section is cancelled. It was supposed to be tomorrow and Friday. We’re trying to figure out what happened.

I just learned this and it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever heard! Now I just go around screaming MUSTAAARD! And when I see him (when watching the halftime show for the millionth time) I point at the screen saying “that’s my boy Dijon”

My productivity has dropped to about half and I’ve been having regular panic attacks where I normally have none.

So, I was given some sourdough starter on Sunday and I’ve been counter feeding it for the past few days. I didn’t know that most people discard some of their starter between feedings. After I make my 5000 loaves of bread tonight, I think my starter is going to have to live in the fridge. 🥖
