Found out yesterday I have officially been granted Italian citizenship - right before they changed the rules. 😅😮‍💨

I am excited to have an EU passport, and am thinking more and more about retiring to a beach town in Sicily. 😂

Does anyone keep Facebook primarily for it to show you “memories” so you can see what you were up to a few (or in my case up to 15) years ago? Is that a weird thing to do?

This is for a few reasons 1. She doesn’t like her photo being taken (but will tolerate it) 2. The stove fan was loud and her ears were tracking the sound 3. We were cooking chicken adobo and she wanted to find it and eat it so badly. Like so badly.

Noodle asked me to pick her up tonight. Big deal given she tends to do this with the other human more. 🥰

Bunnie Tats, a very colourful femme tattoo artist concentrates while prepping a tattoo gun. I have my arm laid out on a small pink table and am in the middle of getting a tattoo. My smiling face is blurry and very close to the camera - I turned last minute to photo bomb as my wxfe took action shots of my tat.

The final tattoo! 🤩 it’s two bright cartoon chiles cuddled up to each other. The small one is a red Calabrian chile and the bigger one is a knobbly Anaheim that gradiates from orange to green. Surrounding the whole thing is lilac dots and yellow sparkles.

We also found a bunch of grants we are eligible for and we know what next steps are for access to work. So things are going in a good direction at least.

Also in good news, the leak is fixed, bricks are good and we have a solution for our washer that means we still come out of it with a new washer dryer (which is good because we’ve paid a lot of money).

Going to a nice restaurant tomorrow though. Maybe someday we can just celebrate without stress.

Today is @novelmode.bsky.social and my 5 year wedding anniversary. In true “us” fashion we are “celebrating” by having our washer fixed, a leak looked at, some bricks regrouted and looking for grants to make up for the ATW funds I’ve had quite suddenly cut. 🫠

The best thing though is the disabled community shows up immediately. I’ve already gotten so much helpful advice. It’s just going to require so much admin and time and energy to claw back whatever I can which will be less than I need. Fuck austerity man. And fuck the current gov.

Fun fact, because of internalised ableism my brain is telling me this is somehow my fault. (I logically know it’s not, but that doesn’t stop my brain from thinking things). This is just proof these systems fuck with everyone, including super politicised disabled people.

I am convinced it is impossible for tradies to be reliable. We had a painter say she was coming at 8:30 last Tuesday. It is now 9:40 the following Monday and she’s still not here.
