almost all of what platner's faced so far are self-inflicted wounds, no one's actually brought out the cannons to fire at him, because you wait to pull those out closer to debates

it's totally possible that platner beats mills in the primary, but, of those two, i think only mills takes the prospect of trying to bring down a traditionally popular five-term senator seriously, and i think a lot of podcasters and political junkies who want him to win overlook that at their peril.
