This is a once in a generation chance to get rid of the M8 in Glasgow - let's grab it
Why Transport Scotland has framed the idea of removing the Woodside Viaducts so negatively is a mystery. What they should be doing is taking thisβ¦
International evidence overwhelmingly undercuts this idea that removing the M8 through Glasgow would cause some sort of doomsday carmageddon. This week's column @heraldscotland.bsky.social

Kirsty McNeill MP and Eddie Barnes with the John Smith Centre 'Making Change Happen' masterclass series cohort. The group is standing at the front of a seminar room with three rows of benches and chairs in front of them.
MSPs Annie Wells and Paul Sweeney and Eddie Barnes with John Paul Academy students. The group is standing in two rows in front of a large blue curtain.
Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart sat on stage at the SEC during a live recording of 'The Rest is Politics' podcast. The large screen behind them is showing a photo of Alastair Campbell and Eddie Barnes sitting on high stools at the front of a lecture theatre with two John Smith Centre pull-up banners behind them.
Dr Elli Loose, Sean McNamara and Lucie Beattie sat on chairs in front of a seated audience facing them. Professor Christopher Carman is standing beside them; all four are holding handheld microphones. There is an RSE pull-up banner and a projector screen showing text reading "Disordered truth in a democracy" behind them.
Over the last week, the Centre has been out in communities across Scotland: from Ullapool to the UofG campus, from schools to the SECβs The Rest is Politics live show on Saturday night π«

Lower migration is bad news for the UK economy - UK in a changing Europe
Lauren Gilbert argues that migrants to the UK are net fiscal contributors, adding much more to the economy than they take out, and that the recent collapse in immigration will harm the UK's economic p...
"There is simply no sign of a fiscal catastrophe from the 'Boriswave'. Recent migrants are very likely to be employed, paying tax and seem to be contributing to British society..it will help, rather than hurt, Britainβs fiscal position."

Former Glasgow Cineworld site to be turned into Omniplex cinema
The Cineworld on Glasgow's Renfrew Street shut after new owners Clydebankbridge Ltd bought the site.
Exciting news that ensures the future of the world's tallest cinema and one of Glasgow's most loved venues.
I have been in touch with the Director of Omniplex Cinemas, John Paul Anderson over the last few months to support their first venture into our city.

The SNP Scottish Government cut training budgets and support the use of imported labour to apply downward pressure on the wages of care workers while allowing the private sector to extract profit from the social care system. It's exploitation.
