My big tip for anyone is to tell the person doing it what you need and what you know might happen so they don't freak out. Known = able to be worked through (under the proviso the medical professional isn't a d*bag)

The doctors in my family would have..."opinions"...if I stopped ignoring medical advice.

My rule is that if I won't go and get medical things done that need to be done, then I need to start doing active things to work on the phobia so that I can. Because otherwise, I'm putting myself at actual risk.

I also have to deal with a phobia that impacts my getting vaccinated, so it's usually a pretty average following day.
