07.07.2025 04:41 β π 795 π 95 π¬ 0 π 9lovely writing in #thearchers this week! Lilian getting emotional from Peggy's old shopping lists, Brian expressing regrets, and the will messiness got me doing a happy dance. Sarah Hehir is in my top tier now. However, I need more messiness and less maturity with the grandkids over the will pls πππ

Part 1 of 4 A Peanuts Comic. Once again Lucy has goaded Charlie Brown into trying to kick a football, and (as usual) she jerks the ball away at the last second, sending Charlie flying into the air. This time however Charlie lands heavily on his neck and is killed instantly.
Part 2 of 4 Lucy kicks Charlie Brown to check if heβs dead. Which he is. Exasperated, and worried sheβll be blamed for his death, Lucy begins to drag Charlieβs now lifeless body towards the creek.
Part 3 of 4 Lucy dumps poor olβ Charlie Brown into the creek and watches him float away.
Part 4 of 4 Lucy heads back to Charlie Brownβs backyard to pick a fight with Snoopy in order to establish an alibi. Unfortunately a disheveled, crumpled man with a cigar is already there. βMiss, have yβseen this dog? Heβs best friends with a BIRD. Can you believe that?β Thatβs right folks. Columbo is here to avenge Charlie Brown.
Lucy van Pelt has finally gone too far. But she will be brought to justice

Katie Hims is also one of my favourite writers for
The Archers
and you can find Blood, Sex and Money here:

5/5 (yes, I'm done)
(having tried listening to some of the newer non-British productions - they sounds straight out of old-timey radio)
We should be proud of this work.
4/5
I've learned so much about writing from listening them, and it's such a great opportunity for new writers.
Also with the rise of podcasts and audiobooks, audio drama has never been so popular. The BBC's back catalogue and expertise in making them is beyond enviable 3/5
Right now I'm listening to the Blood, Sex, Money series of Emile Zola adaptations by @danrebellato.bsky.social, which are phenomenal, star the most ridiculously famous actors (Glenda Jackson, Anna Maxwell-Martin, Robert Lindsay...), and is something that could never be done on TV
2/5
What a brilliant piece by radio dramatist Katie on what we lose by cutting radio drama to (less than) the bone.

I've been able to experience so many classics and new writing through BBC's radio dramas - it's the first place I heard Mike Bartlett 1/5
So this is lovely news!! comedy.co.uk/pro/news/823...
Thank you BCG Pro and Expectation Entertainment!!
Thank you so much Mike!
