Runners at second and third. Infield in; two weak grounders, the White Sox find a way to allow both runs to score and record zero outs.

Coaches: clip that sequence, and use it for "what absolutely can't happen here" examples at practice.

I'm not sure I trust these β€œChicago Style” hot dogs at a random spot in the middle of the desert in Arizona.

The Bears Selection of Colston Loveland Should Come Down to Trusting Ben Johnson Colston Loveland was precisely what the head coach whom everyone pounded on the table for wanted.

Ben Johnson's fingerprints are all over the Chicago Bears' selection of Colston Loveland, and at the end of the day, the evaluation of this pick comes down to trusting Johnson's vision for his offense.

Before things kick off tonight, my best-case scenario for the Bears on Day 2 of the NFL Draft:

39. Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
41. Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
72. Jordan James, RB, Oregon

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I've had safety as a need for a while. Byard is a one-year option on that side of the field.

Some Bears fans might not like it, but best available was the approach at 10, and Colston Loveland was the best available.

Two early seconds and a third to add to the trenches and land a running back remain for Chicago.

I would have loved to see the Bears land Ashton Jeanty tonight, but Colston Loveland was my Plan B for Chicago if Jeanty was off the board in my final mock draft earlier this week. He's going to be a great fit in Ben Johnson's offense in Chicago.

We're two hours from the NFL Draft. I've got some time to kill, so we're going to play a little NFL Draft/Chicago Bears AMA.

In my Bears Bits today, I labeled the Grady Jarrett signing as one that I didn't hate (but wasn't crazy about), but credit where it's due: his introductory press conference was impressive.

I think he'll inject some life and leadership into the defensive line, at least.

Assessing the Chicago Bears 2025 NFL Draft Priorities After the First Wave of Free Agency The Bears work in the first wave of free agency has opened up an array of possibilities for next month's NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears did much of the heavy lifting in the trenches via trades and free agency, opening many possibilities for Ryan Poles and company during next month's NFL Draft.

Bears Bits: Let's Discuss the 3 Free Agency Signings and What's Next for Chicago The Chicago Bears were aggressive in free agency, but we've seen that before. Let's discuss the deals.

Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles was busy during the first wave of free agency. While my reactions to his signings range from "love it" to "don't hate it," there's some risk involved in places.

I discussed that in my latest Bears Bits at @bn-bears.bsky.social today.

If things work out well, they'll pay their QB $60-70 million per year. Drafting cheaper options at core positions is how teams that pay quarterbacks stay competitive.
