Itβs easy to feel disheartened some days, but I keep coming back to this speech:
βI hope youβll keep teaching each other, and learning from each other, and building bonds of friendship that will enrich your lives and enrich our world for decades to come.β
This is why we keep going. ππ

Also today, we wrapped a 3-week decision modeling workshop at Vandy, training 11 leaders from LMIC Ministries of Health. It's incredibly intense but rewarding. Seeing them bring their countryβs needs into the classroom and leave with new skills and networks reminded me of everything I believe in.

Then at the DMV, this afternoon, the woman helping me asked casually, βWhy did you come to the US?β
And I just said, βTo study.β That choice shaped everything: my MPH, my PhD, and the community Iβve found here.

Some news came out that hit hard, heartbreaking for anyone who came to this country to learn, and for those of us who now teach.

Remarks by the First Lady at Stanford Center at Peking University
MRS.
These past few months, I've been thinking a lot about Michelle Obama's 2014 speech at Peking University (my alma mater) -- I was there as an undergrad about to start my MPH in the US in just a few months. Today is a day I felt the urge to post about it. obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/the-press-of...

Acute Ischemic Stroke Care Quality Improvement
This economic evaluation analyzes retrospective and prospective data in 9 quality measures to determine their value in improving care for patients who have had a stroke.
π¨Thrilled to share our new JAMA Neurology publication! Building on previous work, we compare the past vs. future impact of stroke care improvements. Timely tPA drove 20 years of gains, but untapped potential lies in carotid imaging and broader tPA access. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
