I’ll never forget the moment at the Linq bar in Vegas where Jack recognised me, even remembered my name, in front of witnesses too! Just shows that years of shitposting on Twitter was useful for something!

Seriously though, Jack is super nice and super chill and the show is awesome!

No. They arrived at my house whilst I was at SteelCon.

This will be my last Hacker Summer Camp for a few years, but I’m already looking forward to my first EMF camp next year (even if I do hate camping)

Getting some tips from one of his ice hockey heroes

First day of the 7-day Bradford Bulldogs Jnr Ice Hockey camp.

Kel’s gonna be bouncing that 2 of the coaches are Kieron Brown and Danny Harrison (Not just Leeds Knights NIHL players, but 2 of his 3 favourites).

That’s why we now have ball-hockey. Which is really street-hockey in sneakers. But the contact levels of ice.

I suspect, Shinty, Hurling, Bandy and field all played into what became (ice) hockey

The reason for the name confusion here is that field hockey is very common in schools, but as a girls sport, and ice pads are very few and far between

Ball hockey is on the rise though, to add to the confusion

The kit bag thing I have less of an explanation for, in fact I questioned wether they were called kit bags here, so I looked around a few uk sites and yeah, they do call them kit bags

Only my son could check and recheck his kit bag for ice hockey and still manage to pack 2 left gloves and no rights!

On this damp island, it’s ice hockey (especially in non-hockey circles) as ‘hockey’ refers to field hockey (from which ice hockey originated) by default, and no kid in a pair of Bauer’s wants to be mistaken for a field hockey hockey player :)
