I’d say less worried and more possessive. Vox just hates the idea that Alastor lowered his guard (inadvertently) when there was someone else in the room, but I could see younger Vox being worried about his safety. Unfortunately, for him it would have only fueled the likelihood of Alastor’s rejection

I think it has less to do with his smoke and more to do with his saliva, since his saliva is also pink. I‘d always assume it works kind of like a drug (Acting as a depressant, so he can easily manipulate people). Though I’d assume it doesn't really work with stronger demons, like Alastor.
