09.12.2025 16:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That's amazing! Have I potentially found a tattoo idea that I'd consider? 😱 What a method to have as your first peal as well, very big flex 😆
21.10.2025 13:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Starting to get the hang of this malarky of running the practice! Can't for the life of me stop asking people to "knock behind" when they're going to be turning it in 🙄

A rare absence on practice night yesterday - off doing District things, like organising a QP at our planned striking competition tower. No bells broken, ropes frayed, or angry neighbours! A success!

Had a good chat about the plans for the Ipswich Training Bells last night - very exciting stuff! I can't wait to teach lots of new people to ring!

02.12.2024 17:06 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Very sad to hear about the passing of Jim Towler. I was one of many ringers who had the pleasure to have him in the band for my first peal - his enthusiasm for encouraging ringers to keep pealing was one of the main reasons I stuck it. He will be sorely missed.
01.12.2024 23:01 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0The yearly tradition of losing a peal for the Christmas Tree festival continues today with having to stop 5 courses from the end of Grandsire Cinques with the tenor ringer not feeling well. Ey well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing!
30.11.2024 18:00 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Colder weather and remote venue probably put a lot of people off! Had a lot of people reach out to give apologies, though, so not deterred!
30.11.2024 17:51 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Always tricky when only 5 people turn up to a Surprise Major practice! Two touches of Stedman Doubles later, we were ready to go to pub - better luck next month.

24.11.2024 18:29 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oooooh, I wish that was a choice every practice! Maybe Sunday morning the dilemma can be pancakes or Plain Bob!
21.11.2024 18:31 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oh no! It's that time of year where I start getting chased for reports! How to summarise a busy year of ringing 🤔 Interpretative dance?
21.11.2024 09:26 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Had a blast at Erin Cinques tonight as well. It's really great to see that yesterday's QP band had some solid front-work! All the rows were much cleaner without wondering if it's a dodge or lead first...
18.11.2024 22:46 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Cracking practice tonight! Some fabulous visitors with some even more fabulous Stedman, Cambridge and Yorkshire. One of those rare nights where I even managed to sit out!

Lovely composition by John Hyden tonight. Perfect for giving some other members of our band some intensive Erin practice.
