A rare absence on practice night yesterday - off doing District things, like organising a QP at our planned striking competition tower. No bells broken, ropes frayed, or angry neighbours! A success!

Had a good chat about the plans for the Ipswich Training Bells last night - very exciting stuff! I can't wait to teach lots of new people to ring!

Very sad to hear about the passing of Jim Towler. I was one of many ringers who had the pleasure to have him in the band for my first peal - his enthusiasm for encouraging ringers to keep pealing was one of the main reasons I stuck it. He will be sorely missed.

The yearly tradition of losing a peal for the Christmas Tree festival continues today with having to stop 5 courses from the end of Grandsire Cinques with the tenor ringer not feeling well. Ey well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing!

Colder weather and remote venue probably put a lot of people off! Had a lot of people reach out to give apologies, though, so not deterred!

Always tricky when only 5 people turn up to a Surprise Major practice! Two touches of Stedman Doubles later, we were ready to go to pub - better luck next month.

Had a blast at Erin Cinques tonight as well. It's really great to see that yesterday's QP band had some solid front-work! All the rows were much cleaner without wondering if it's a dodge or lead first...

Cracking practice tonight! Some fabulous visitors with some even more fabulous Stedman, Cambridge and Yorkshire. One of those rare nights where I even managed to sit out!
