After 30 years of skiing today I learned that if the slope has a snow machine that is kind of pointed down so that the flurry crosses a part of the run, you should not attempt to just ski through it.

A damning inditement

Spider-Man 3 is a good one. I was working on Spider-Man 3 the game (PS2/Wii/PSP) and we went with the entire team. We were all haggard from crunch. We were worried the game we were making was not good. We left the theater in absolute silence.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence
There's a point in this film, when it's already massively overstayed its welcome, when it ends. Only, then it doesn't. It keeps going, much to my (and the rest of the theater's) horror. The guy behind me whispered, "dude, this is lame!" to his friend.

Frog and Toad sat close by the fire. They were scared. The teacups shook in their hands. They were having the shivers. It was a good, warm feeling.

You losers are trying to get ripped by taking ice showers at 4 am and eating raw eggs, whereas I have simply committed to running at 4 miles per hour for as long as it takes for my project to build for all platforms.

Working through my hottest MacOS design takes:
- The Dock still sucks but is probably a reaction to full screen single window apps and a general move away from document interfaces.
- The Finder has lost its ability to meaningfully organize files spatially.
- They shoulda never renamed TeachText.

The value assignments are implicit, remove.

Find a let's play and jump around on the timeline and you will get 90% of the value to be had. But it's interesting as a weird, ten-years-too-late experiment.

This one requires patience! It's all video and branching A/B dialog choices and instant kills.

Random game Saturday: THE FEAR, 2 whole discs of haunted mansion FMV "action." You play as a camera man and everything is first person through the viewfinder. Even walking slowly from room to room is a video clip, and holding the run button just plays the video faster. A relic of 2X CD-ROM design.
