I think theres quite a lot to that, like a certain guided curation because even at a distance it feels a little more connected knowing someone had a hand in it.

Oh yeah, I can see the comparison point on certain things. Especially collectibles! Ive been seeing bookstores with books for sale in brown paper bags with nothing more than a genre labeled to them. Which I think is an interesting parallel or outgrowth.

One of those stray thoughts you present like a thesis you've had for years. Today's? Blind boxing or bagging getting more popular as a response to choice paralysis inherent in the age of the streaming/internet infinite library.

I know a lot of comic artists who look at like film composition and cinematography to see what it can bring to their own medium. Absolutely worth looking at the acting in that same degree. Maybe more vitally actually.

My mom would sometimes just find me in zombie makeup or some costume or another failing to menace goats. Wasn’t even Halloween usually.

I don’t bemoan the loss of features on any social media too often, but some nights are a real β€œI’d kill for circles” Sometimes you wanna be messy in front of like twenty chill friends and absolutely no one else.

At some point soon spending too much time with my grandparents listening to cassettes of depression era radio is gunna work out for me. This probably isn’t a great sign, but we work with what we get.

Or are they bad at spelling and actually appreciate the cover afforded by autocorrect going beyond its jurisdiction? (Hello, that one’s me)

Are they bad at spelling or -like many of us- have they given up fighting an increasingly insane and opinionated autocorrect?

Finding a nice balance of planning my A plots from the get go and just winging the B and C plots to different degrees. Keeps a direction while still allowing me something that can shift and move while I make the book.

Sometimes I find myself idly thinking about what things would like if Comixology and Comixology Submit didn’t go the direction they did. Sometimes specifically for myself and sometimes for the entire medium.

A horned white goat stands on the wreckage of an old car. Behind the buck is a tree surrounded by dead vehicles, motorcycles, a school bus and more. Its fall, and leaves are on the ground.

Coincidentally reading a lot of Charles Portis lately. And that three hour runtime on Blank Check’s True Grit episode isn’t getting any shorter if I keep pausing every time they compliment his writing to go back to reading Dog of the South.

On the front porch of a general store Chester pins up lost dog pictures. The Three Whittlers whittle away and chat with him. The smallest whittler named Herbert carves a skeleton.

Claude: Lose that Dog of your's again, chester?
Chester: Dunno if she was around long enough to be considered found.
Art: One of them young ladies in Uncle Foe's Flock mentioned seeing a Beagle.
Chester: Ah shoot. I don't wanna deal with them tonight. The've been real riled about some thirteen stars nonsesne.
'We will ascend and leave our bodies behind for alien hermit crabs'
Martha had patience for them. I do not.
Herbert: Say, you're a fellow geezer. what story did your folks tell you about Fiddler's Cave?
Chester: We both know I'm from Sheboygan.
Herbert: So you don't know any of the stories?
Chester: Figure I'm about to.
Herbert: Lemme tall ya about the Phantom's Fiddle!

Think this was legitimately my first comic book from a thrift store in a one horse town. Giant oversized prints of the Flat Top comic strip story arc. Made it feel modular in retrospect.
