Together they face everything with grace, patience, and kindness, most notably their recently adopted child, Garnet. Both are devout followers of The Star, eager to spread joy and beautify the world anyway they can. The violet mark on their beaks is a sign of their marriage of 40 years.

She immediately sets out for answers about her death in the small town of Lumiet, cared for by a pair of crowfolk, who believe she is a war orphan. She holds steadfast to her oaths and tries to prevent injustice wherever she sees it, despite her now limited ability. Always at her side is a hundred-times lacquered branch she wields like her former sword.

He preaches the virtues of freedom and going with the flow just as much he does cryptic clues that he knows more about the inner workings of Lumiet than he lets on. As such, he is the only person in Luimet that believes Garnet. As much a clown as he is a mystery.

Intelligent and well-read, she has the ability to read people deeply, be it by observing from the shadows or through direct conversation. She has no concept of personal space, going so far as to smell people for the information she wants. She is quick to claim Lune is the crazy one.

Foiche is Lumiet's roaming latchkey kid, often caught just wandering around town for anything that piques her interest. One could be forgiven for not knowing she is the daughter of the wealthiest woman in Lumiet, though they are rarely, if ever seen together. Despite this, her upbringing has made her polite, patient, and just a bit clingy. Expect to be called her best friend from your first meeting.
