Update: Justin Fields sustained a dislocated toe in his right foot and will be day-to-day. Fields avoided serious injury and significant missed time, per the #Jets.

Aaron Glenn said after practice that Fields hurt his toe — though he’s not sure of the severity yet.

Sign second round pick TE Mason Taylor before training camp. He’ll be a crucial piece of their offense this year.

Majority of second round picks haven’t signed yet as they’re widely seeking fully guaranteed contracts.

From 2011 through 2022, the Jets only signed one first-round pick to a second contract (Muhammad Wilkerson).

Since then:

Quinnen Williams in 2023
Garrett Wilson in 2025
Sauce Gardner in 2025

Times are changing.

Garrett Wilson has produced despite all the turmoil around him on offense through three years — especially at QB and offensive coordinator.

He’s the type of player (and person) you build around.

A good start to the Darren Mougey era locking him up. Sauce Gardner is up next — and it’ll be big too.

Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson both desire (and deserve) new contracts but both have been showing up all offseason. Reflects well on them — and on the culture Aaron Glenn is building too.

As @zackblatt.bsky.social said, the Steelers' top target at QB this offseason was Justin Fields — who signed with the Jets.

Now, the Steelers are going to sign the ex-Jet; and the two teams will battle in Week 1.

I have heard that there’s increasing optimism that the #Jets will land Justin Fields — but still work to be done, and always the shot a surprise team swoops in or Pittsburgh changes course.

But right now, especially as Steelers mull over Aaron Rodgers, Jets have a good shot.

The Jets had interest in CB Carlton Davis but were never going to pay him the $20M a year the Pats are giving him.

Javon Kinlaw getting $45M is legitimately blowing my mind.

Other NFL teams raiding the Jets underperforming DL from 2024.

My guess would be something like 2/30

Godwin not landing in NE. Patriots gonna wind up overpaying someone at WR bc they are desperate for talent there.

Schefter reporting Haason Reddick was basically the first signing after noon on a mostly guaranteed $14M, one year deal.

He was one of the least productive pass rushers in the NFL last season and skipped half the season in one of the worst contract disputes of all time.

Justin Fields remains the #Jets top QB target and as of now I think there’s a decent shot they land him.

But if not… it gets bleak. Carson Wentz will be in consideration. Same for Kirk Cousins if the Falcons cut him.
