It's crazy every few weeks I read an intense news story about how the company that owns Batman can't make money.

With that much debt, it is inevitable this backfires in some regard.

In regards to the Paramount/Warner Bros. stuff going on, if you live in the United States I'd suggest writing to your state's Attorney General and urge them to block the merger. Additionally, states like California and New York have antitrust laws that could be leveraged to block this.

The Paramount-Warner merger is actually a private equity takeover. The amount of leverage used in the purchase rivals the PE deals for Toys "R" Us and Nabisco. Those ended with mass layoffs, and this will too—by design.
