Really you *should* make add'l choices on your ballot so long as you have *any* preference between the candidates. At the point where you really don't know/care about candidates, it does not matter if you make no further choices. How many choices are offered on the ballot? And how many candidates?

If there are as many choices offered on the ballot as there are candidates in the race and your last choice is actually used, that candidate would have won regardless of whether that ballot choice is used or left blank (and your ballot is therefore inactive).
