If you can wait through about 70 years of constant use they are excellent. Things slide right off. But mine is smooth as silk from constant scraping 1950-present. Not like a recently made one with topography.

If you allow a one hour error bar everyone can just choose their own way on daylight savings and it doesn’t matter. Remove the minute hand on clocks. A more relaxed society.

This is a good analogy. Very useful in carefully controlled settings for specific usages, but unfortunately being widely inserted into everything and used without training or PPE and poisoning a lot of things and people and we’re going to pay a tonne of money to remove it safely in the future
