During Israel’s occupation of southern Lebanon from 1978 until 2000, Zionist forces frequently invaded Lebanese waters and terrorized fishermen, destroying their nets, detaining them, and humiliating them with strip searches.

On the morning of Feb. 2, two Israeli gunboats invaded Lebanese waters and headed straight in the direction of Lebanese fishermen Atef Ahmad Juhair & his cousin Mohammad.

Mohammad was abducted while Atef rushed to seek help from the Lebanese army intelligence. No one helped. 🧵

يأتي اعتقال سلامة وظلم دقة في إطار حملة إسرائيلية متصاعدة لتطهير الفلسطينيين عرقيًا من أراضي ٤٨ المحتلة، وقمع الأصوات الفلسطينية المعارضة عبر الاعتقالات التعسفية والترحيل وإلغاء الأوضاع القانونية.

بعد مرور أكثر من عام على استشهاده، لا تزال قوات الاحتلال تحتجز جثمان وليد دقة، في قرار تعزز بمرسوم حكومي صدر في أيلول ٢٠٢٤ يقضي بعدم إعادة جثامين سبعة شهداء (بينهم دقة) من أراضي فلسطين المحتلة عام ٤٨.

في اليوم السابق، شرعت سلطات الاحتلال في سحب الجنسية الإسرائيلية من أربعة أسرى فلسطينيين وترحيلهم إلى مناطق خاضعة للسلطة الفلسطينية أو قطاع غزة، تواجه سلامة خطر التعرض لنفس المصير.

اتهمت قوات الاحتلال سلامة بنشر "منشورات تحريضية ضد الدولة وجنودها"، وقد تمّ اعتقالها بعد ساعات فقط من دعوة وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي بن غفير لترحيلها.

اعتقلت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الناشطة الفلسطينية سناء سلامة، أرملة الأسير السياسي الشهيد وليد دقة، أثناء خروجها مع ابنتها ميلاد البالغة من العمر خمس سنوات في القدس مساء أمس الخميس الموافق ٢٩ أيار ٢٠٢٥.

Salameh’s detention and Daqqa’s injustice are part of an escalating Israeli campaign to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from 48 occupied Palestine and punish dissenting Palestinian voices through arbitrary detentions, deportations, and the revocation of legal status.

For over a year since his martyrdom, the occupation continues to hold Walid Daqqa’s body, a decision reinforced by a Cabinet decree in September 2024 not to return the bodies of seven martyrs (including Daqqa) from 48 occupied Palestine.

The previous day, the occupation moved to strip four Palestinian prisoners of their Israeli citizenship and deport them to areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority or the Gaza Strip. Salameh is at risk of the same treatment.
