I would say one of the main right-wing projects of the past twenty years has been gaming every web 2.0 platform into thinking the right-wing is much bigger and more influential than it actually is. And the people who have been most taken in by this effort has been the right wing

The ongoing argument isn’t about Gavin Newsom, per se, it’s about whether or not it’s a valid decision to abstain in the 2028 election because you didn’t like the Democrat enough. That’s important because every single election the same people find an excuse to bow out, then blame the candidate.

Every single decision about prosecuting Trump and holding him accountable has been made not with the objective of maximizing the odds of conviction and consequences, but minimizing the odds someone will say Dems are being political or targeting Trump. Consequently they failed utterly at both.

We all have a right to be angry at GOP voters -- that almost goes without saying. But I still maintain a special reserve of vitriol for people who can't be bothered to vote at all. They, by themselves, could have prevented this. They, by themselves, can stop this whenever they want to.
