Found a little Jr bug on the last day at the big hospital. That's our ( @housepants.bsky.social ) nickname for them anyway.

She's been transferred to a rehabilitation facility closer to home, which is a big relief. But the recovery will be long... The level of damage is becoming very apparent.

Castlevania is such a natural fit for one that I am still shocked Konami didn't do it.

CV 3 already laid out 90% of the framework for it. 4 very unique playable characters, tons of great bosses & branching paths. At this point in the series you got the pick of the litter for awesome bosses.

Yeah definitely agree about the classic cast and arcade limitstions.

I wish there was just a straight up RE brawler (or Castlevania). I think they'd work well. I want my Final Fight without T Virus knockoffs 🀣

Real. Yeah the weird resident evil shit is kinda fucked, and a lot of shit doesn't make any fucking sense. But I don't remember hating the combat.

Just wait until you unlock the multiplayer arcade mode, no story, no bullshit. Play as other characters. I think that's the best part of the game.

We've been struggling to get her to eat again, so she can be transferred to a facility close to home. We're relying on FMLA now, risking everything financially, and won't be leaving until she transfers. Without us here between the weekends she wouldn't eat or talk at all.

Potato laptop testing for the (unoptimized) #MegaManRS prototype. I got this dog water Chromebook with me while we're at the hospital away from home. Side loaded Kubuntu 25, runs on Wine way better than I expected given these specs. 60fps might be possible! #UnrealEngine #gamedev

I changed some settings in Bottles and I can get up to 28fps in some areas of the map, and the FPS loss for filters and high res seem to be lessened.

I'll have to try Lutris again now that I've gotten some success running it in Bottles. Lot of variables in play running like this. πŸ€”

The FPS does react very noticeably to things like, increasing game pixel resolution, and using things like the scan like filter.

I can't seem to get it to resize the window when run like this through Bottles (wine helper), so I'm not sure. I'll be able to know more when I can start editing the code again, at home, and doing other tests. Based on the various time measurement hooks in this build it seems GPU bottlenecked.

If it seems strange that I think I can turn 25fps into 60, it's because the input lag reduction settings currently cut the FPS in half. While I will strive to always have the input lag reduction on, it should reach 60 with that off and other future optimizations.
