Today was that day that the temperature climbed above freezing, and though it didn't make it quite to 40° on the homestead, it was plenty warm enough to sit on the tailgate of the truck in the sunshine and video chat with my mom and watch the sheep cavort because they know spring is coming.

Yesterday was the first day of the new year in the Chinese zodiak, and it is *my* year, having been born in the year of the Wood Snake!

This seems exciting and daunting and portentous!!!
