CIA Director Radcliffe testified before the Senate today insisting that no classified information was shared via the Signal chat in question.

The Senate will get the full transcript so we’ll see soon if someone just lied in a Senate hearing.

So odd that the WH doesn’t seem to understand that the true will emerge on the illegal Signal chat.

I guarantee you that the news room at The Atlantic screen-captured the entirety of the chat as evidence. Likely videoed that process as well.

Time will tell whether CIA Director Radcliffe lied to the Senate today when he testified that no classified information was shared in the Signal group chat that accidentally included the Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic. It’s virtually impossible for him to be telling the truth. Here are three key reasons why: – Executive Order 13526, which governs classification of information, states: “Information shall be classified if its unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause damage to the national security.” Classification is automatic — it does not require explicit marking. – Military Operational Plans (MOPs) are by definition sensitive. Unauthorized disclosure of MOPs could reasonably be expected to damage national security. Actual harm does not need to occur for a violation to have happened. – Based on The Atlantic’s reporting, it appears the Signal group chat discussed MOPs and other potentially classified material. Also, while the CIA began limited use of Signal under Biden, the Department of Defense banned it entirely — a ban reaffirmed just this month in an internal memo. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s use of Signal therefore violated DoD protocol. If no proper record was preserved, that’s a civil breach of the Federal Records Act. At worst, he may have criminally violated the Espionage Act (18 U.S. Code § 793) by transmitting classified data (MOPs) over an insecure channel to an unauthorized recipient (a journalist). This is a serious national security breach. In normal times, people would resign or be fired. What times do we live in?

The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025.

This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

It would have been great to honor Dear Leader by renaming Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island after him. The Donald J. Trump Dump has a certain ring to it.
