Also, Jin's father is killed by Templars. "May your death benefit all beings" is straight up Father of Understanding stuff.

You cannot have an AC MC without having a family member murdered by Templars, and GoT has that 100%.

Playing the original and the graphics are astoundingly great. There are odd frame drops tho when a transparent material is on screen, which is odd. Wonder what's going on there.

Playing it in 2k with upscaling and frame Gen thru lossless scaling helps performance.

But Observers idea of horror also tends to just be.. loud sudden noise?

It gets old quick.

Instead of letting the game speak through context clues, dread, and unease, which would last longer.

Also, the stealth section was laughable compared to alien isolation.

I love how dark Observer gets compared to Cyberpunk. At least, tone wise. Sure, there's fucked up shit in Cyberpunk too but its covered in neon lights, laugh tracks, and a sunny atmosphere.

Observer is constant night and rain. Really sets the tone better.

Playing through Observer for Halloween at the same time as re-playjng Cyberpunk2077 is.. an experience.

Both were made by Polish companies, but are dystopian cyberpunk. Obv, Cyberpunk is am RPG while Observer is a linear horror.

From what I heard, it was just a concept and those get thrown out all the time.

However, that would have been a fantastic setting for an AC, especially if they used it to actually revitalize the series stealth and modern day.

Assassin's Creed was one of the most interesting science fiction + historical games of all time.

Ubisoft has squandered that.

Now they have mediocre "history" fantasy games at best, with none of the sci-fi.

Valhalla wanted to do this, but had way too many characters, too complicated plots, and bombard you with all their missions at one time and then nothing for 100 hours. By the time they come back, you forgot who they were.

The side characters in GoT was also done extremely well. There are only like 4 of them, so it's not overwhelming. They're all super different. And their missions are trickled out throughout the campaign, keeping retention. They're also relevant to the main story, keeping them fresh.

There needed to be more focus on what the creed means to Eivor, and why they choose to accept or reject it.
Does Eivor accept it in the end? I don't remember, because the story was that convoluted.

Jin decides that his honor is worth less than keeping his people alive, and so embraces stealth (I.e. the assassins creed) and saves the island.
Eivor rejects the assassins creed, as a pov character in an AC game.

Valhalla had this problem. AC means stealth, Vikings don't do stealth. How do you get a viking to do stealth?

GoT solved this by making it a focus of the narrative. Samurai don't do stealth, so Jin has consequences socially.

AC has been afraid to experiment since 2017s Origins. And IMO they were chasing Witcher 3 and Dark Souls, but were afraid to have their own identity.

Social stealth could have been a cool thing to expand on, but they abandoned it.
And stealth was very cookie-cutter anyways. Some basic tools.

Finished the main story of Ghost of Tsushima and I need to talk about how GoT is a better Assassin's Creed game than the latest AC games have been.

For context, I've only played Valhalla and Mirage recently. Have not played Shadows.

If we could assign a material slot, it would unify geo nodes into the rest of Blender better and make it far more flexible.

25.06.2025 06:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Dear Blender devs,
Please let us use the material slots for an object in geometry Nodes! We have the set material node, but it's always looking at all the materials in the scene and is not flexible.
Right now, using geo nodes on an object makes the material tab useless.

Hey Blender devs, please let us organize the N-panel ourselves.
Also Blender addon devs, please stop using the N-panel for your addon if you don't need to! There's so many better locations like the properties panel that would work much better and feel better integrated.

The worlds here were fantastic though. I think Tatooine was a favorite. Akiva just felt too messy. The ice world was too small.

It makes me want a slower, more linear Star Wars game.

27.05.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But the entire game before that? It was good, but not what I would call great. It's torn between the main story (great) and everything else (fine). It's like two different games.

Everything after the "point of no return" feels like this great adventure game. It was really tight, contained, and felt so Star Wars meets Oceans. The cutscenes, the music 🀌 amazing.

Finished SW Outlaws last night and wtf was that ending?
Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic. But it felt like I was playing a completely different game.

Having rewards tied to reputation is holding me back from the backstabbing in missions tho. At least until I get the top tier rewards. Then I might have some fun with it. But it's sad to see the fun being held back.

I was hoping the Droid companion would be that: a companion. All he does is sit in the ship.
We got the cute dog guy tho, so that's alright. The cooking minigames are honestly one of the best things so far.

Performance with an RTX 3060 is much improved thanks to Lossless Scaling. Also, thus means cutscenes are 60 fps instead of 30.

Ubisoft makes amazing open worlds that feel so detailed and rich. Outlaws feels so great to run around in.

Been playing Star Wars Outlaws, and my main complaint so far is that it's too static and the Empire is barely there.

Im pretty sure the remaster of Oblivion was a testing bed for VI. At least, art asset wise.

Though it could just be a a remaster just because, with no influence on VI whatsoever.

It's also an attack. Look at her expression. One doesn't make a post like this unless you want to cause someone else pain.
It reads like a bully being backed up by the teacher after hitting the actual victim.
