Most of the time Drag Path makes me emotional but sometimes when I hear the line: "sad sack, Laying on the surface" all I picture is Frodo wrapped up being dragged around by Shelob.

Right before the concert started I said, "I might throw up" and the person in front of me didn't completely turn around but they were sus and then I said, "I'm not actually going to throw up, I'm just really excited."

Even if it's a double reference, it seems kind of perfect 🤷 It's a story that repeats itself --- there could be multiple references through history.

Anyway, I'm a deconstructed exvangelical and not religious anymore, but I started watching The Chosen and I started having all these thoughts about Nicodemus being the leader of the Rabbi and seems to be one of the only ones who believes Jesus could be the Messiah and I thought that was interesting.

In my artwork, tøp or not, I love delving deep into folklore- trying to find as much as I can about it. Maybe that's some influence from my experience as a theatre scenic. I love finding the stories under the story. Makes everything so much richer when you can layer meaning.

I did know about the Towers of Silence but I am not familiar with the term Dakhma. Maybe I saw it and didn't connect 🤷

Last year when I was smacked in the face with just how deep the lore went, I binged everything I could find. I even have a couple books about Simone Weil, although unfinished.

So. Are the names Nico and Dema at all derived from the biblical Nicodemus? Obvs I understand the Nicholas Bourbaki connection but "Nicodemus" seems VERY coincidental. Have we discovered where the name of Dema comes from?

I briefly explained the allegory, my therapist was interested and said, "maybe I should listen to them" but I didn't have the heart to tell her how deep it goes beyond the music and that she'd end up having to watch hours of videos to catch up 😅 3/

I don't talk about tøp a lot in therapy but today I did. We were talking about religion vs faith and choices going forward for myself and my kiddos.

I brought up how tøp isn't explicitly religious, but it doesn't shy away (phun intended) from faith. How it questions and talks about doubt... 1/

I enjoyed it as much as I could! But I did worry about her a lot and spent a lot of time on my phone after B stage to look at the set list and decide if there was going to be pyro/cryo in the upcoming songs.

Honestly tho the time before the show trading stuff with other people was fun

I took a break from applying to gigs on Upwork because I was so disheartened but I'm about to jump back on and give it another go.

I'm pretty sure the only way to get jobs on there is by bringing in your own clients from outside so you have projects on your profile to begin with.
