If there was one series that would’ve happily tied it all together, it would’ve been Lower Decks.

At first, I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about such a snarky & joke-filled series being treated as Canon, but in the end it’s become my favorite thing of the entire Kurtzman era.

Definitely a more conclusive way, that’s for sure! Although I would argue the leading political & media figures of the movement deserve it first.

There’s still a part of me that does pity the typical MAGA voter. They bear fault, but they are also under the influence of some powerful brainwashing.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s like saying people who are disgusted by the Epstein child rapists are “perpetuating hateful attitudes towards pedophiles and ephebophiles.”

Uhm……and? Are we supposed to NOT revile such people?!

There are still centrist types out there looking to scold those of us who condemn MAGA voters as bigots & traitors as being “part of the problem“ because we supposedly “perpetuate the divisions in our country.“

Reconstruction was smothered in the crib because of the compromise of 1876. (Another fucked up too close to call election like 2000) Reconstruction needed to be a multi-decade sustained project until 2 generations of white Southerners had been born & raised in a US where blacks had legal equality.

I also liked how sleek and alien the ship looked. I am really not a fan of what they did with the starships in the 32nd century.

If they could tie that in with the events of enterprise, it would wrap a nice little bow on all the discrepancies between TOS/ENT/DIS/STA

What I liked about this episode is that it was reciprocal; dude was literally driven crazy by Janeway’s multiple temporal misadventures and disregarding of the temporal prime directive. Seemed like he resented her almost as much as the Borg queen did.

About the only person I know who has taken significant AIPAC money who is also pretty progressive and good on most issues is Jasmine Crockett.

As much as I love her, I think more people should be asking her why she’s taking any funding from them.

A lot of people are onto AIPAC and their influence at this point. I’m constantly seeing politicians called out based on track AIPAC’s ratings of them.

While there will be plenty of centrist neoliberals who are fine with that, most progressives are completely rejecting anyone connected to AIPAC.

I don’t pay too much attending attention to whatever’s trending, I just scroll my timeline based on who I’m following. And I’d say about 80% of the people I’m following are still very much on top of this illegal war of choice & the many consequences it will have on the world. The rest are Epstein.

I have noticed a number of journalists who I respect finally abandoned their accounts there, making final posts directing their followers to come to Bluesky.

Unfortunately, a lot of politicos and media figures still seem to feel like it’s a necessary evil to exist on there because the view numbers are still so much higher on average than Bluesky or Threads.

Even though I like funny animal videos, I stopped clicking on ones that don’t belong to established accounts. I trust because the AI slop was starting to be fed to me by the algorithm.

Sadly, I’ve also noticed some accounts that exist on both services will update on X and fail to do the same update on Bluesky.

Honestly, Twitter was digital cancer for years before Elon took it over. I never used it heavily, but now the only reason I ever go there is if I need to look at something that isn’t on Bluesky like service alerts for my local transit system.

The truth is it doesn’t really matter if he is or isn’t dead. As long as the IRGC is operational Iran is not anywhere near being free.

It would be nice if the Iranians could use this opportunity to free themselves from tyranny, but even if they do, it can’t justify Trump and Bibi starting this war.

I think you’re a little mixed up. Tucker, Candace, Nick, Marjorie are all antisemites & diverge with the Christofascists.

While they agree on the idea of white Xtian supremacy & the preservation of “western culture“, they are all also aligned with Jew-haters who think Protocols of Zion are true.

My only guess as to why the hard right Jews are willing to get “used“ by the Christofascists is because the Jews think the Christian interpretation of biblical prophecy is bogus, & that the Jews are actually playing the Christians for fools by taking their support, and assume no apocalypse is coming

Honestly, at this point, I’m disgusted that there haven’t been any who have tried to stage a coup. This is so far beyond acceptable. He’s the most despicable human being to have ever occupied elected office in this country.

I was appalled when I learned that anybody pays income tax. I’m Social Security. It should be completely tax-free income, like a Roth.

I don’t believe there should be any cap on SS withholdings. I think we are way past the point of expecting each persons personal withholdings to be devoted to funding only them in retirement. We should be vigorously draining the very rich to help support people who earned less in their lifetimes.
