On Wednesday, November 5 from 6-8pm, join our neighbors to put together kits with Know Your Rights zines and whistles. Volunteers are asked to bring their own scissors. We’ll give you 15% off your tab for the night, if you want to also have a beer.

Last week, a few of our neighbors wanted to host a Whistlemania event in Ravenswood and asked if we were able to provide some space to spread out so they could assemble whistle kits for an evening. It’s been one way that Chicagoans have been able to organize to protect their neighbors.

Tomorrow from noon–8p, Chicago Growth Project takes over the parking lots at Dovetail and our neighbors Demo Brewing (just a 4-minute walk away!) for Park(ing) Day with live music, yoga, speakers, and urbanist displays.

AUG 16 – BERLINER DAY In 2023, we brewed our Berliner Weisse: a refreshing 3.2% sour wheat beer for summer—pale, lightly hazy, effervescent, with water cracker malt, minerality, lemony tartness, and Greek yogurt tang. Brettanomyces adds pineapple and hay as it ages. Traditionally made with single decoction, coolship, and open fermentation, it also used historic twists: a hop mash, no boil, and a Berlin-style water profile. Now, two years later, we’re re-releasing a few kegs to see how the Brett has developed. To honor tradition, we’ll serve it in coupe-like glasses—“the Champagne of the North”—and “mit schuss,” with syrups from Bitter Ex. Beard & Belly will be here with Berlin’s iconic snack, currywurst. AUG 24 – DOVETAIL TACHINOMI Our taproom transforms into a Japanese-style standing bar, or tachinomi. Join guest tapster Zigmas Maloni (Beermiscious) as he pours Dovetail Lager in Japanese “Cut-style,” showcasing the revered foam. We’ll also welcome back Soba Master Mariko Kallister, trained under Kunihiro Takahashi and a former Dassai sake brewer, for a live soba noodle demonstration and tasting. Space is limited for the soba demo—tickets available! Afterward, enjoy Ziggy’s Japanese-style ice service. Introducing our virtual punch card, the DOVETAIL UMLAUT PERK PROGRAM. It’s like that thing they do at that big coffee chain with collecting stars, except someone in our management meeting said we should call them Umlauts (probably the guy who loves Hüsker Dü).
