Life Under Dead Wood | Wildlife Photographer of the Year | Natural History Museum Alexis Tinker-Tsavalas (Germany) carefully rolls over a log in his local forest to see fruiting bodies of slime mould and a tiny springtail.

Visited Wildlife Photographer of the Year #WPY60 @ Natural History Museum @NHM_London. The world to be found in leaf littler, #compost & dead wood. Good reason not to over-tidy outdoor spaces. Highly recommended read/look. #garden #gardens #gardening #biodiversity #environment

I often try to re-cast what in the UK are seen 'far left' ideas (public ownership for e.g) in a wider context i.e they're often the norm in Europe, South America & so on. Our 'status quo' is actually the outlier.

The right has always successfully boiled complex issues down to easy fixes. Often erroneously but in a short news cycle it works. The left often over-grapple with some issues, currently prioritising identity issues above obvious class-based explanations. That lack of articulation is so frustrating.
