It's interesting that this relentless, desperate yearning to treat employees like robots, is only being *amplified* by technology what promises actual robots.

Every employee, already in a panopticon, their facial expressions monitored and rated in real-time.

Amazon, for instance, tracks each warehouse employee and will deduct points in real time if they begin to lag. It tells them, you have this many seconds to grab the next item or else.

This tracking is something you could do with 1970's technology but they are gussying it up as AI.

It's interesting that for a very long, long time, retail workers were commanded to act like robots. Strict scripts you had to follow or else get fired, done repetitively all day long.

People got fired for such as not smiling enough to a customer right after finding out their parent died, etc.

A normal person would never think of how much richer they would get if upon winning a lottery they immediately set fire to all their money.

To a billionaire that *is* how you get even richer.

A normal person thinks of getting money as accumulating money, increasing wealth.

A billionaire thinks of it as collateral to use to go deeper into a mathematically staggering debt, reaching that magical point where you get richer the more money you owe.

You point to that $10 billion and go "check this shit out, this is 10% collateral. Loan me some money"

And now you're worth $100 billion.

And then you just hope you die before having to pay back any of the mountain of debt you turned your money into.

You own a company worth a billion dollars, your net worth is a billion dollars?

No, that's poor person thinking.

You simply point to your billion dollar company and go "this is 10% collateral on a $10 billion loan."

Your net worth is magically $10 billion.

A billionaire becomes richer, mostly, by pointing to their mound of actual blood money and going "look you know I'm good for it, loan me some money"

And then they just keep doing this til they keel over.
