Never watched the Burton or Reeves flicks, only the old ones, which I quite like.

All of them were missing ape baseball though.

"Robinson knows what they're missing and he shows them, and they all start playing."[15] Sellers refused to give up his baseball scene, and when Hayes turned in the next script, sans baseball, Sellers fired him.

The loss of Tagawa led me to the Wiki for “Planet of the Apes” (‘01), which led to the info that prior to Burton, we nearly had a reboot in the ‘90s from the “Dead Calm” team starring Schwarz, but it fizzled because a Fox exec insisted they add a scene where Arnie teaches apes how to play baseball?!

Worst? How dare you!

I’m not pro-merger, but the endless whining and doomerism on here over every single thing that happens is a bit tiresome.

Updating my mute words. Some of you are acting like movies are canceled forever when the merger hasn’t even gone through yet.

I do think it’s saying something interesting about American solipsism and hubris. For a movie that’s sort of been absorbed into the culture as propaganda, it does depict the US military getting its ass kicked. A thorny movie for sure.

Cinema Sin #39271: in this scene popular character Waylon Smithers commits no less than 7 felonies to Welsh singer Tom Jones and yet is never arrested for the crime. At the end of the episode Mr Jones even requests Marge “call Interpol love” why wasn’t this followed up on? Did the writers forget??
