My 30-year history with email:

- Age 20. Email was an amazing way to talk to friends.
- Age 30. Email was a nuisance.
- Age 40. I was obsessed with inbox zero.
- Age 50. When I have too many emails, I just say, to hell with it, and archive them all.

It's that time of year where I'm craving to rewatch either Chernobyl or BoJack Horseman. Totally different shows, but both great at putting me through an existential crisis.

Even though it feels good not to think about Twitter any longer… Now I'm trying to figure out whether to worry about my failures on Bluesky or Threads or Mastodon... I'm like, pick a failure lane already!

Writing a novel is a lot like finding three goldfish in your cereal bowl and then madly searching the internet on how to take care of fish, except the internet is down and you can't find the fish any longer and you have a stomachache.

Each day is a tricky balance between paying attention and actively not paying attention. 

I've got to admit: 0 followers is my comfort zone.

Everything after that requires therapy or Xanax.

I really think this may be the text-based social platform that I can most successfully not succeed at.
