It threatens academic freedom, narrows public debate, and undermines trust in science and the people behind it.   𝗜𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲. Researchers must be able to explore, question and share knowledge openly. The RCF funds research through open competition and international peer review, and our staff work to ensure the 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 of the process.   Debate and disagreement are part of a healthy democracy. But there is a line that is crossed when the conversation turns into personal attacks or intimidation.   We call on everyone to help keep that line clear.
