12 plastic jugs with soil and seeds planted in them. These will go outside for a ~60 day cold stratification before the seeds germinate this spring. #nativegarden

Thanks to my lovely SO for teaching me all things #nativegarden. Seeds are ready for stratification! We’ve got prairie coreopsis, mistflower, pale purple coneflower, New England aster, hoary vervain, rattlesnake master, and wild geranium this year.

My finished design! MI zone 6b. Lake Michigan costal town. Sandy soil and light conditions are all over the place! What fun. 🤩 I kept the design simple with something blooming all season long. Lots of herbivore pressure. #nativeplants

It’s such a good feeling knowing soon those new plants will be in the ground! Our gardens make a positive impact on our environment. I’m definitely an amateur but I just map out the soil and light conditions and match the plants to the right spot. Fun little puzzle! Good luck this spring!
