I appreciate all of this. It is my biggest pet peeve how people choose to occupy the dance floor in a way that alters the space to be less conducive to enjoying the dance floor, 99% of the time it isn't a matter of disability, it's a matter of totally ignoring the music and yapping in bad spot.

It's the sort of thing that can be equally magical or nightmarish, depending on where you end up. But it immediately came to mind reading your post. Hanging out, laughing, watching movies, are basically what it's all about for huge swathes there!
And np, I have super particular taste-is what itis.
They weren't particularly easy to come across, like all my other experience with close friendships in life, basically came down to luck. But, I find the VR world a huge boon in providing opportunities to socialize, now. I'm so burned out after work. It has restored me. Worth considering.

I've been rather lonely for the last few years - mid 30s, typical growing distant from friends with age thing.
I started utilizing VRChat for virtual raves. I was extremely antisocial for awhile, but since branching out more, have met several people I am happy to consider close friends. (1/2)
