I agree, i won’t be conceding anything from the past few years. But that is how it will be viewed from pretty much everywhere else

But the cubs are just one 3-2 stretch from winning more series than the Brewers have in the entire stretch and immediately having the upper hand in the rivalry.

The dumb part about this upcoming series is the Brewers have been heads and shoulders above the Cubs since game 163 in 2018. Have finished ahead of them in every full season including a combined 15 games in the first two years of Counsell down there.

Yep. Saw a post on twitter saying that they are playing poorly at the absolute worst time. I’d argue playing not great in games that basically don’t impact playoff seeding before a week off is the perfect time to play poorly!

Plus they are getting a week off no matter what! Whatever "momentum" they carry into the postseason will be nullified by the time off.

The "backing into the playoffs" is so tired. They went 5-2 in their final week before the 2024 playoffs and came out flat in game 1. The 2023 team was 8-5 in the final 2 weeks before getting swept. Plus if the Brewers were firing on all cylinders those same people would say we are peaking too early

The correct play could indeed be going for to go for 2 there. But the fact that you MIGHT have to go for two later in the game (and could still win even if you don't convert it like Oregon did tonight) isn't a factor in this decision. It's just if probability converting > winning in 2OT or beyond

Think of it this way please. The only thing you should consider is if you you chances of converting the game winning play is greater than your chances of winning the game in the following OTs
