Just had a reminder from Concert Archives that 16 years ago tonight I was at the Forum in Aberdeen to see The Stranglers. Always a pleasure never a chore.

Absolutely outstanding album. This and its younger sibling both make my all time top ten. Both get a frequent airing around these parts.

I got a pair of ‘Dali Oberon’ speakers with my system. They are great.

I’m no audiophile, but I’m delighted with my system. My good lady wife bought it for my big birthday a couple of years ago.

So glad I’ve managed to keep *all my original vinyl. Could probably have made use of the cash when first married/had kids etc but was never tempted to part with it.

As I replied to someone else, I moved all the vinyl in to ‘traditional’ sleeves immediately I bought it. All my vinyl also lived in my loft for many years as well. Loved it when I got it but often find it hard work now.

I remember those days. I had a couple of albums like that. One of which was ‘New Boots and Panties’. Plays perfectly these days on my Rega though.

It’s as much the fact that the vinyl was decamped in to ‘traditional’ sleeves as soon as I got the album home. That and the fact that it resided in my loft for over 30 years while real life got in the way of my vinyl enjoyment. CDs were much more family friendly.

Haha….yes, I’m sure. Wobble on bass is something else..!!

Must admit that I’ve got to be in the humour to listen to this these days and tonight is the night, so #nowplaying is ‘Metal Box’ by Public Image Limited. Tin container still in really good nick compared to some I’ve seen posted.

Absolutely. I think it was my 3rd ever gig. I was 16 and it blew my mind.

Saw them with the great Dury back in 1979 and seen them a few times since without him. Nothing will compare to the original, but they always put on a fantastic show.
