Thank you for helping secure the future of this important project.
If anyone would still like to support Little Tern conservation or the wider work of Spurn Bird Observatory, donations can be made via our website:
spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk/support-us/d...
Alongside recently confirmed support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the money raised through this appeal means the Little Tern project will run at full capacity in 2026.
We are hugely grateful to everyone who donated, shared the page or sent messages of support.
Update on the Beacon Ponds Little Tern appeal
The GoFundMe appeal has now closed. We launched it to cover a specific funding gap for the 2026 breeding season, and thanks to the incredible generosity of so many people, that gap has now been filled.

Please help us give Little Terns at Beacon Ponds the protection they need in 2026.
The appeal has made a really encouraging start, with Β£2,890 raised so far, but there is still a long way to go to secure wardening for the season.
Every donation, and every share, genuinely makes a difference.

That success did not happen by chance.
It depends on experienced, full-time wardens providing protection throughout the breeding season, reducing disturbance and responding quickly to threats.
Without wardens, the birds are left vulnerable.

Beacon Ponds is one of the UKβs real conservation success stories.
Once close to losing Little Terns altogether, sustained wardening has helped turn the site into one of the most successful in the country.
Last season:
β’ 105 pairs
β’ 107 chicks fledged
