but let me step down off my soapbox. 🫠 i’m preaching to the choir.

being distraught when they’ve lost so much feels silly. i’ll tighten up in a second.

i have a hard time wrapping my head around this kind of thing. i tried to move with my day but every moment is laced with the knowledge that today was some kid’s last goodbye unbeknownst to them and their family.

all at the hands of people who’re perpetually and willfully insatiable in their lust for wealth and power. people who literally have everything are leveling countries to take more.

how do you recover? how do you move on? when everything, literally everything, is violently ripped away.

i pray over my nieces daily bc i know the risk that is attending public school here. i’m relieved whenever i pick them up or hear them run through the door. because i know.

so many families are gone. so many families will never, ever have that experience again. so many people have died.

donating to legitimate orgs and funds, disseminating information, voting etc etc etc feels so futile when i look at what’s left of Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Iran, and everywhere else. because it helps, its something, but it doesn’t undo or mitigate the harm these people cause.

been having vegetarian breakfasts bc starting my day with meat in my mouth didn’t feel right as a man

so incredibly sad. the death/injury toll had been slowly increasing since i woke up
