And from just how few people went to go see this latest installment, I doubt we're getting another helping...

They're a compromise between what audiences say they want and what they actually go out to the theatre to see; a franchise you recognise and understand but fresh, new, interesting ideas to chew on while the zombies chew on brains.

28 Years Later and its sequel are probably the absolute best forms of the "Legacy Sequel", films that take the fundamental ideas of the first entry and use them to tell a completely original story through a contemporary lens.

The pacing of modern television is so cooked, it takes 4 hour-long episodes to cover what would be 45 minutes of The Vampire Diaries.

If this is the skeet I saw earlier, I feel like it was a valid take but it was funny to say that those 3rd acts "destroyed" what they were building towards when at least 2 of the 3rd acts in question very explicitly say "we are destroying what came before to move forward".
