I’ve got a podcast! When I watched the nuclear war film Threads at the age of 11 it terrified me and changed my life forever.

I started the pod to speak to other people whose lives have been changed by Threads, from cast and crew members, to extras, broadcasters, authors and super fans. Out now!

There’s a section about when her kid spent a summer in hospital. I was in the next bed with a broken leg. It’s a brilliant book.

I also love that when a journalist I know arrived to interview her and declined her offer of a glass of wine, Jilly pressed on: "Oh go on, just a *gentle* glass..."

I loved Jilly Cooper. She lived round the corner from us in Putney when I was a kid, and she wrote a magnificent book about her experiences there called The Common Years.

I recognise all the places and several of the characters, including some of the dogs.

What’s behind Europe’s sharp drop in illegal migration? Fall in migrant crossings won’t head off tougher immigration clampdowns

The figures aren’t falling because the β€œunderlying causes of migration have changed” but because, in response to a shift in public sentiment, the EU is β€œexperimenting with new ways” of heading migrants off, said The Economist.

I listened to a podcast each day of her trial. I have no idea if she’s guilty or innocent but I don’t think she had a fair trial. I was really uncomfortable with some of it. I worked as a nurse in the NHS for 26yrs & very aware of how it often works.

The thought of Lucy Letby's innocence is too appalling to bear Who would feel safe entrusting their baby to a health service that might have shown such cowardice and cruelty to one of their own?

People talk about reality TV but how often does anyone fart on any of these shows? Basically never. Ergo de facto it’s not β€˜real’. Shut up and stop.
