I've never had such a contentious relationship with a work of fiction. I love love love it to death, more than anything, but there's always cruel retaliation for loving it. I'm tired.

They'll get a bunch of money out of you on empty promises, and then it'll all disappear, you won't get your shiny new thing, and then they'll start resenting you for caring.

This will fail. Everyone involved will be hurt. The new team will take the blame for the author's ego and incompetence. It's a cycle that's been going since before the original even ended in 2016.

They've broken the glass in case of emergency and are using their far more popular protégé to bring in a new wave of people who don't know.

You can't make an entire story about how much you hate your fans and then come crawling back to take charge after erasing your most popular work from existence while using other people as fall guys.

Don't fall for it. Don't give them money if they ask. Don't believe anything they ever say.

they are jingling keys in front of your face to distract you from the most antagonistic thing they've ever done to you.
