I just watched a video of a friend of mine being brutally detained by ICE. They broke their hand, and grabbed their partner for trying to go to their aid.

They are all over the city. They are knocking door-to-door, now. We are under attack by our own government.

Bluesky has taken down this video from other people, claiming it's 'graphic.' It's not. It shows ICE shooting through the windshield of a car that is attempting to drive away. There is no blood. You can't see the person. We need to share this everywhere.

Making cool stuff for someone I love: double-knitted alpaca mittens in deer hide shells. This took my knitting expertise, my tailoring -which leaves much to be desired- leatherworking tools, sewing skills, and lots of time. Finished the mittens last winter and I'm not done yet.

Late to the party, but I have just finished the Outside triad and I wept at the end.

The audiobooks are good.

The series contains multitudes, but it's really about how a bunch of queer neurodivergent mentally ill people save the world(s).

I can't think of a better time in our history to read it.

Perhaps oral exams would do a good job, but that takes time (as does proctored essay writing.) I believe that the way universities churn through as many undergrads as possible using the least amount of labor, as well as the idea of a BA as a consumer product, have both contributed to this.
