Anyway, I've never been to the US, but my Beigel Bake fav is salt beef with gherkin, no mustard. I barely ever eat meat but that bagel is one of many reasons I am not 100% vegan.

(posting in hoping someone reading that will say "I've been to both, and...")

I wonder how different NY bagels will be from, say, Beigel Bake in Brick Lane in London (one of the oldest if not the oldest 24/7/365 bagel shops in the UK) - roast beef with gherkin and mustard, cream cheese & smoked salmon, that sort of classics
