my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI

Next week, it’ll be “omg I saw asylum seekers with shoes. Shoes! Time to ban shoes!”

Oh look, yet another disaster for ordinary people caused by Tory governments abandoning social responsibility in pursuit of cost-cutting for lower taxes, which has unfolded exactly as experts predicted at the time, and clearing up the mess will now cost public money desperately needed elsewhere.

A photo collage of some original artworks, all available on Folksy:
A Glencoe mountain scene, a swallow in flight, mushrooms with clover, golden marigolds, a northern lapwing, and a landscape with oxeye daisies.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.

Can Rep Fine even describe "Western values"? Is there some unseen definition he's working with?

To suggest that having lived a life so grim that even an English tribunal will grant you asylum, and to have somehow managed to get here at great risk to life, is a "golden ticket" is absolutely fucking contemptible. Shame on this so-called Labour Party.

😶‍🌫️...effort, tbh. It's stripping the bed; washing the bedlinens; somehow getting them dry; either folding/ironing them for storage or putting them back on the bed. Personally, I don't often have the capacity to do all that, I'll admit. It's easier in summer, though.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

Honestly, all of the original series films had such different, interesting things to say, yes, even The Voyage Home, which was a lighthearted admonition to consider how important all species are in the balance of ecology.
