Tomorrow is likely to be a bit damp, but the Yellow Springs Street Fair will go on! Look for me doing pastel demos in the Yellow Springs Art Council gallery at 111 Corry Street. The Dayton Society of Artists has a lovely exhibit in the space, themed Night Sky and Twilight. I’ll be there from 9-1.

The Dayton Society of Artists has an exhibit this month at the Yellow Springs Arts Council gallery titled Night Sky and Twilight. I have two pieces in the show and will be there next Saturday June 14 from 9-1 doing demos during the Yellow Springs Street Fair.

Tomorrow is First Friday at Front Street and I will be there by 6:30. A lot of other artists will also be open in Saturday but I have a workshop to teach! I’ve done a bit of rearranging and painted the floor. It isn’t done yet but here’s a sneak peek at the purple floor.

SOLD! Had a great First Friday last week. I got a lot of questions about pastels from Wright State and Central State students with shows in the building this month. Plus a couple bought what is now their third and fourth pastel from me. Love to see all the enthusiasm for local art!

The solo show is over and my empty looking studio is full again, just in time for First Friday tonight. You won’t see this Yellowstone piece there because it sold! There are plenty of others though, so stop by and say hi. I should be there by 6:30.

More artstuff happening - solo exhibit in March, this time at Preble Arts in Eaton.

Next weekend is the Dayton Art Fair in the Arcade! It will be great weekend to purchase some art, watch some demos and stroll through this lovely historic site. I’ll be there on Saturday, with @arielwhiteart.bsky.social and Matt Burgy in the Dayton Society of Artists booth. Stop by and say hi!

Video from a couple of years ago, creating a 6x9 pastel. This is the view from a corner of my yard.

It’s been three weeks since we got 9 inches of snow and the ground is still mostly covered but it’s not as pretty as when it first fell. It’s melting fast now, so I decide to pay tribute before it’s all gone. 9x12 pastel on paper, no title yet but thinking of something along the lines of “quietude”.

"Pastel Explorations" is my show at Sinclair Community College in the Works on Paper gallery. It's free and open to the public through February 5.

And now I'm finding @bsky.app limits - no video over 60 seconds. So here's a favorite of the little ones instead, one of the first ones to sell.

Practice, practice, practice. 40 little 4x6 inch sky pastels in 6 months, another over the next six months. These were the highlight of 2022, a truly challenging year.
