Caught a SEPTA bus on time today, which is cool. But statistically this means the next 19 I try to catch will be extremely late or fully cancelled.

5/10 Why don't Americans take their shoes off indoor? The_Swedish_Reviewer March 14, 2025 Although the film is classified as a horror movie, it is more of a psychological drama. At the end, a twist is revealed but it wasn't particularly clever, as one of the main characters explains it to the audience. I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that the movie is told from the perspective of a ghost, and it works. You, as the audience, follow the ghost through the house, feeling as if you are the ghost yourself. Everything else, such as the camera work, acting, lighting, and setting, is well done. However, what felt off to me was why Americans always wear their shoes indoors, even bringing them into the bedrooms. Why don't they take off their shoes at the front door? Just imagine all the dirt and debris Americans bring into their homes because of this habit. Another thing that stood out to me is that American homes never seem to have a place to hang outdoor clothes. Where do they put their coats, jackets, blazers, hats, scarves, mittens, or gloves? Every European home l've visited has a place right inside the front door to hang outerwear and also to take off shoes. The film "Presence" is a stark reminder of what's wrong with American households.

This is a perfect review of Steven Soderbergh's Presence.

Thinking about how messed up my sleep has been this week as I take a sip from my 5pm cup of black coffee.
